Workflows for Tax Pros was founded in 2021 by tax-pert, Jessica Smith, and systems implementation specialist, Jamie Gruol.
As an Enrolled Agent struggling to manage a growing list of clients, Jessica turned to TaxDome to automate her client management processes.
After designing workflows that gave her the time, freedom, and flexibility to create her dream life, Jessica reached a six-figure income working just 30 hours a week – during tax season!
Other tax pros took notice – and WorkFlows for Tax Pros was born.
From fast friends to business partners.
One fateful day, Jessica responded to a friendly market research post from Jamie, a workflow organizational expert, in a Facebook group of 35k entrepreneurs.
Through a conversation about babies, business, and dreams, Jessica and Jamie parted fast friends.
Jessica was intrigued by Jamie’s expertise in workflow and systems setup and threw out a crazy idea – what if Jamie learned about TaxDome and helped others setup their own automated workflows alongside her?
The Workflows For Tax Pros partnership was born, and since that fateful moment, they have been positively impacting tax and accounting professionals across the US and Canada.

As an Enrolled Agent and NTPI Fellow, she holds the highest level of credentialing and advanced training in IRS representation. Jessica is federally authorized to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the IRS and is actively pursuing admission to practice before the U.S. Tax Court through the Court’s rigorous non-attorney examination process.
Jessica is the founder of The 100K EA, a program designed to mentor tax practitioners in building six-figure practices rooted in confidence, systems, and expertise. She also co-founded Workflows for Tax Pros, a consultancy that empowers tax practitioners to optimize and automate their practices using tools like TaxDome.
Her most recent venture, TaxReview2Do, is a purpose-built software solution designed to bring structure, speed, and accuracy to the tax return review process, helping firms standardize quality and scale with ease.
Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting, summa cum laude, from California College. She is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the Idaho Association of Tax Consultants.

After working as a software implementation project manager for 10 years, Jamie used her talent for workflow management to co-found Workflows for Tax Pros.
Jamie lives in the mountains of Vermont with her husband and two children.
